FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 14, 2025
CHAGRIN FALLS, OHIO — The Chagrin Hunter Jumper Classic is excited to announce that the 2025 Prize List is now available, with entries opening May 15 and closing June 25. Riders, trainers, and horse show enthusiasts are invited to join us this July at Chagrin Valley Farms located at 9250 East Washington Street, Chagrin Falls, OH 44023 for a tradition-rich competition that blends top level horses and riders with an unforgettable summer show experience.
Celebrating its roots as a USEF Heritage Competition dating back to 1949—and the birthplace of the very first U.S. Grand Prix—the Chagrin Hunter Jumper Classic continues to evolve while honoring its historic legacy. From lead-line and walk-trot to Hunter Derbies and the $9,999 Mini Prix, there are divisions and opportunities for every horse and rider.
We’re also thrilled to have Phil DeVita back as our show manager, who we’ve proudly had the honor of working with every year since 2016. Phil brings decades of top-level experience, having judged and designed courses at premier events like the ASPCA Maclay Finals, WEF, Capital Challenge, and was part of the course designing team at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Phil is currently a Co-Manager of Desert International Horse Park, the Devon Horse Show and many other events throughout our country.

This year, we’re proud to debut the Great Lakes Heritage Series, a brand-new program celebrating hunter and jumper competitors across three premier Midwest shows:
- Brave Horse IV – June 18-22, 2025 in Johnstown, Ohio
- Chagrin Hunter Jumper Classic – July 9–13, 2025 in Chagrin Falls, Ohio
- Buffalo International Horse Show – September 11–14, 2025 in Buffalo, New York
Riders will earn points automatically toward Series Awards—no registration required—with Champion and Reserve honors presented at the final shows in the series. Riders can earn awards in six Hunter Award categories by competing in at least two of the three horse shows with the Hunter awards presented at the Buffalo International Horse Show, September 11-14, 2025 at 950 Amherst Street, Buffalo, NY 14216.
Jumper riders also have six division categories to earn points but must compete at both the Brave Horse IV June 18-22, 2025 horse show, located at 1029 South County Line Road, Johnstown, OH 43031 and the Chagrin Hunter Jumper Classic July 9-13, 2025. As the Buffalo show does not offer Jumper classes, Jumper awards will be presented at the Chagrin Hunter Jumper Classic. Prizes will include special ribbons and a trophy.
